Hello! I’m Karl, or KVL.
I’m a professional tattoo artist with 14 years in the industry. Born and raised in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world tattooing. Over the years, I’ve won multiple awards at the highest level and am proudly sponsored by industry giants Cheyenne.
I believe that every tattoo is a collaboration between artist and client. I don’t settle for “average” or “OK” — I pursue excellence through custom, one-off artwork commissioned by each of my clients. My guarantee to you is this: every time I tattoo someone, I do my absolute best to create the best piece I’ve ever done.

Some other custom services I offer (beyond standard full-day sessions) include:
Day Gladiator – Full Day Session
The Day Gladiator package is a full 10-hour day in the studio, dedicated entirely to your piece. It includes domestic flights anywhere in New Zealand (direct flights only),
airport transfers in the morning and evening, your full-day tattoo session, and a full aftercare pack. Lunch and snacks are provided where possible, depending on dietary needs.
You’ll also receive a custom Day Gladiator t-shirt and your name will be added permanently to the Gladiator Plaque in the studio. If you’re local, I’ll either book you a weekend
away or negotiate some money off instead. A 40% deposit is required to confirm your spot.
Hell Week – Four Days Back to Back
Hell Week is designed for clients ready to commit to four consecutive days of tattooing (where possible). This package covers domestic flights,
daily transfers to and from the studio, five nights of hotel accommodation, a full aftercare pack, and lunch/snacks where available.
You'll also receive a custom Hell Week t-shirt and have your name permanently added to the Hell Week Plaque in the studio. If you’re based locally,
the flight portion can be swapped for a weekend getaway or a negotiated discount. A 40% deposit is required to secure your booking.
