Before your session, here’s what you need to know

Getting the most out of your tattoo starts before you arrive

To make sure everything goes smoothly on the day, there are a few simple things you can do in the lead-up to your appointment. This isn’t just about comfort, it’s also about making sure your body and skin are in the best possible shape to sit well and heal cleanly.

  • Get a good night’s sleep the night before. Tired bodies tend to handle long sessions poorly.
  • Stay hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment and avoid alcohol the day before.
  • Eat a solid meal before your session. You'll need the energy, especially for longer sessions.
  • Moisturize your skin regularly in the lead-up to your appointment, but avoid applying lotion on the day.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
  • Avoid sunburns and tanning. Skin that’s been damaged or irritated can’t be tattooed.
  • Don’t apply numbing cream unless we’ve discussed it beforehand. Some can affect how the skin responds.
  • Bring headphones, snacks, and a drink. Especially if you're in for a longer session, comfort is key.

If anything changes — your health, your availability, or even just your comfort level — please let me know as early as possible. I’m here to make this a smooth and positive experience from start to finish.
